Country views in Leipers Fork, Tn

Living in Nashville, Tennessee has its benefits. One of the many benefits is that it is a small, yet big city with hidden gems all around. One of those hidden gems, about 30-45 minutes outside of Nashville is a small town called Leipers Fork. (photo of old police car as you drive into town). On the way into town you will pass sprawling ranches, some with cattle and others with horses. You may notice new luxurious homes being built too as many out of state residents are moving into Tn as so many like the smaller town feel middle Tennessee has to offer.

Leipers Fork is known to many nearby for its small town charm, yet quaint country feel upon arrival. Leipers Fork used to be a drive through town right outside Franklin, TN and one that one wouldn’t even blink an eye at years ago.

Over the years, the main street has grown to include quaint shops, a few local and small eateries and even a bar that has changed names and ownership over the years. This bar now known as Fox and Locke recently received its claim to fame in August 2022, when people.com reported that its very own resident, Carrie Underwood stopped by for a jam session with other local musicians.

Today I stopped by and there was a great local musician, so as its normal and welcomed in and around Nashville I dropped some money in the tip jar.  I could hear the musician playing outside the bar, so felt called to drop some money. I didn’t stay for long, but understand being in a city full of talented musicians or artists isn’t easy when there is so much stiff competition.

I continued on my way around town and stopped by some of my favorite shops as I can enjoy learning more about the town each time I visit. One of the shops has great gifts and I have had a different experience talking to the owners each visit. They carry an eclectic choice of gifts be it for yourself or for someone for a birthday or the holidays. It just so happens each and every time I visit the town I learn something new.

A store that is in town that sells rare, high end turquoise jewelry is actually owned by country music star Chris Stapleton’s wife Morgan. The store is set back from the road in a small cabin like structure, that many in town will tell you used to be an old jail back in the day.

Another shop with local owners who are originally from New England, like me is the Copper Fox Gallery. This gallery is always welcoming and set in a old, yet modern home on the Main Street. I highly recommend stopping by and saying hello to the owners if passing through town. Better yet, stop by and grab yourself a gift or a gift for a loved one during the holidays.
